In a troubled economy, finding the right talent and the right project opportunities is as important as ever. CRC-ASPex's Consulting Resource Connection aims to take the pain out connecting consultants to businesses by providing an extremely customizeable and easy set of web based tools.
Business users and consultants need only provide an email address to get started using The CRC. Once the email has been verifiied, they can proceed with entering in as much or as little information as they choose. The idea is to keep things quick and simple. No lengthy forms to grind through.
When Area Studios and CRC-ASPex were conceptualizing the Consulting Resource Connection, we wanted to put ease of use at the forefront of every bit of functionality of the application. That's why built the resume "item-adder" as the foundation of the consultant side of the application. The more items like work history, project experience, and software expertise a consultant adds the more likely they are to be chosen for project opportunities. This allows the consultant's experience speak for the consultant, cutting out a lot of the unnecessary fluff you often find in other job and project seeking websites are rife with.
Built into the administrative backend for The CRC was a dashboard that allows any admin to keep track of all the activity on the site. If a consultant adds a resume item or a business specifies a new project, the admin is sure to know about it. Clearly displayed is the number of active businesses, consultants, and otherwise. Each message provides links to the specific object in question as a means of navigating the system via its activities.
Instead of requiring page after page of forms asking all sorts of personal information and otherwise, the Consulting Resource Connection gets down to brass tax. Only that which is needed to determine whether a consultant can get started on a project or not is required, and the adding of resume items such as work history and project experience takes priority as it should.
Customizing the resume item categories available to consultants is a snap. An admin can create a category, define the type (such as industry experience), and even specify presets for items in that category. The idea is to allow clients to create a resume tailored to their business processes and specific needs. No two companies are the same and requirements can vary widely even within the same industry, so it was of the utmost importance that these resume items could be managed easily.
Businesses are busy, and the last thing they want to do is spend hours filling out forms on a website to specify the needs of a project they need completed. Area Studios suggested the business side tools for The CRC be dead simple - a gateway to face to face communication with consultants. All one need do is specify a brief overview of the project, add the roles that will need to be filled, and sit back while the talent roles in.
